Thought Provoking Issues!

A Web of Deceit . . .

with 11 comments

Where is 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony?

Cindy Anthony, Caylee’s grandmother, and the Florida Police Dept. would like to know.

The one person, who could possibly shed some light on Caylee’s disappearance, her 22-year-old mother, is not cooperating with authorities, and has spun a web of deceit, that authorities simply can’t trust her.

“We can’t compel Casey Anthony to give us more information,” Orange County Sheriff Sgt. John Allen said. “She has a right to not talk to us about it. But certainly as the mother, I would hope she would be willing to give us whatever information she had to help us find her child.”

Casey Anthony reported her daughter Caylee missing at the insistence of her mother. Caylee’s grandmother had grown weary of the inconsistencies in her daughter’s story and wanted desperately to see her granddaughter.

Casey Anthony told officials that she dropped off her daughter on June 9 at the baby sitter—a woman she identified as Zenaida Gonzalez, but when she returned to pick Caylee up, the child was missing.

Investigators found a woman by that name, but Ms. Gonzalez claims that she never met Anthony or her daughter Caylee.

Authorities continue to look for other women with a similar name.

“As we continue to investigate this, we find more inconsistencies in the mother’s story,” said Sgt. Allen. “So we continue to look for witnesses.”

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Caylee’s mother on Wednesday, July 16. Casey Anthony has been charged with child neglect, providing false information to officials, and obstructing a criminal investigation.

Orange County Judge John Jordan denied Anthony bail and denounced her strange behavior.

“You left your 2-year-old child with a person who does not exist, at an apartment you cannot identify,” Jordan said. “You lied to your parents about your child whereabouts. You cared so little about your child.”

Casey Anthony simply nodded as the judge spoke.

Anthony’s trail of lies has her family and officials baffled. Why would a woman with no criminal record, refuse to assist authorities in finding her missing daughter?

Judge Jordan ordered a mental-health evaluation.

Is Caylee Marie Anthony still alive?

“At this point, there is no indication that Caylee is deceased,” Capt. Angelo Nieves said. “We don’t know where she is. Our concern is for the child and to locate her.”

Teams from the Orange County Sherriff’s Office brought digging equipment and cadaver dogs to the home of Cindy Anthony. Investigators moved a playhouse from where it was situated and checked the ground beneath it.

Detectives are following up on any lead in order to unravel the web of lies that Casey Anthony has spun.

· Early June . . . Casey Anthony tells her mother that her job was sending her to Tampa for a few days.

· Anthony then changes the story and tells her mother that she would be vacationing with friends and taking Caylee with her.

· June 9 . . . Casey Anthony claims she left Caylee Marie with a baby-sitter.

· Casey Anthony informs detective that she worked for Universal Studious and coworkers could vouch for her.

· The baby-sitter’s apartment where Casey Anthony claims she dropped her daughter off in June has been vacant for five months.

· The woman that Anthony claimed to be the baby-sitter (Zenaida Gonzalez) has no prior knowledge of her or Caylee.

As Cindy Anthony tries to find solace in the confines of her granddaughter’s room . . . adorned with Winnie the Pooh decorations and pictures of Caylee, she prays that the empty chair at the tiny teatime table, the bed lined with SpongeBob and teddy bears—won’t remain that way much longer.

  1. This is heart wrenching. It is so ignorant that it is a big whole drama for Casey Anthony, when in fact it is simple share all the information with the police. By stalling she is costing her daughter time she may not have. The way I see it either way if she talks or if she doesn’t, whatever the outcome it is all her fault, I want to see justice done.

  3. wow…she had money to go party and now get a tattoo? I wonder how long her and gramma are gonna drag this out?

IMO she either has no clue where she left Caylee or she did something to her. That is why she is stalling!

  4. i agree, she either killed her, or maybe sold her or something—but i dont think she just “lost” her—-if casey had lost caylee, by now someone would have found her and come forward. I also wonder where her money was coming from—-I am a non working stay at home mom, and i cannot afford a babysitter, let alone partying. And one of my children would be gone for 1 minute and i would be contacting police, i sure as hell wouldn’t wait a month—i wouldnt even wait a day!! Like someone said, I think she has no care for anyone but herself—she probably has antisocial personality disorder—but its obvious that she knows right from wrong, or she wouldnt be lying all this time—there is no way a mental health defense or anything like it would work. And even if the death of caylee was not intentional, who would believe the lying sorry b**ch now? Anyone who can hurt their own child—or any child for that matter—needs to be either killed or locked up for life—-I hope they lock her up for life and she gets tortured in prison until she can no longer stand it and either kill herself—or be killed by some other inmate who can’t stand her.

  5. at the latest vigil for Caylee

Cindy spoke about her faith. “I understand why my daughter is so calm. I understand why she is so calm, because I am there with her. I am calm because I get it. I can’t do anything about it. She can’t do anything about it. I have to trust in God,” said Cindy Anthony

  6. just read this here

    August 27, 2008 – 4:19PM
Results just in from the University of Tennessee Body Farm reveal that a body was decomposing in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car, mother of missing 3-year-old, Caylee.
On Aug. 10, air sample tests were taken from taken Anthony’s trunk and sent to the facility by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The Anthony family claims the smell, which was first described by Casey Anthony’s mother as “the smell of a dead body,” was rotting pizza.
This first sample tested for body decomposition. This test did not confirm that the decomposition belonged to a certain person, or Caylee Anthony, only that there was a decomposing body in the trunk.

**If it’s not Caylee…who’s body was in Casey’s trunk and how is Cindy gonna explain this one?

  7. Prosecutors have now offered Anthony partial immunity, in exchange for her admission that Caylee Anthony died as a result of an accident. The deal is set to expire in 24 hours.

    Now we wait again…

  8. This family sure is odd or is that sick?

Casey gets lost for over a month, misplaces her 2 year old daughter, lies, steals, smiles, waves, parties, borrows a shovel to do weeding, carries a dead body around in her trunk and refuses to say what she did to Caylee and where she is. THEN has time to toss on a “Have you seen me” t-shirt with Caylee’s pic on it before she is lead away in handcuffs?

Grandma has no clue where Casey and Caylee were for over a month (but can find Casey in a blink of an eye when they pick up her car from the impound lot), finds Casey’s car and says that it smells like a dead body was in it, washes pants that smell like the car, says the cadavar dogs were wrong, says the phone records are wrong, says nanny must have her since that is what Casey said, says that Caylee is alive and well, even when DNA says she is dead and was in the trunk of mommy’s car? Cant get straight the last time she actully saw Caylee. Says if there was a dead body in mommy’s trunk, someone put it there. She goes on to say Casey can’t tell where Caylee is because the family will be in danger?

Grandpa says that the kidnappers have Caylee and are being watched? Freaks out at people out in the yard. Finds stolen gas can (where is other can?) in trunk of Casey’s car, looks for an assistant and spokesman for the family?

I’m sure I have left out a bunch of things here, but Casey looks as guilty as they come and they all look like they are hiding something!

  9. I just heard on CNN Nancy Grace that Casey Anthony has been offered up to 1.5 million dollars for her story. I am shocked, sickened, angry and confused. Who in their right mind would offer this woman money for her story when this beautiful little girl is missing and presumed murdered? Who ever pays this woman will be forever boycotted by me. I hope that the rest of you will follow suit, do not allow thses company’s to get away with paying people money in situations like this. Allowing her to profit in the name of her daughter’s disappearance/murder is disturbing to say the least.

  10. Casey, you need to grow up! You are acting like a spoiled child! It is fact you were the last person to see lil Caylee and with the facts out there, it is obvious that you have harmed Caylee and dropped her off like trash.
Proud of yourself Casey? How long will this go on? You running the show!
Cindy, you need to grow up also! Out there waving your hammer around, yelling and swearing at people. Cindy, these people are sick that your sweet lil Caylee is missing! Strangers, more upset than Caylee’s own family! Sad, so sad!! You dont like hearing Casey called a baby killer? Then you need to get in your daughter’s face and demand to know what happen to Caylee.(IMO You and George and Lee already know what happen and Casey is sitting in that house smiling, knowing she has gotten away with her daughter’s disappearance and probable death so far.)

I hope they have LOTS more info and send Casey away for a long, long time. If Cindy and George and Lee know, then i hope they send them away also.

  11. I wish that Cindy and George Anthony would not let Casey reside in their home. It reminds me of the “enabler” in an addiction situation and what is any different that someone addicted to lying?
