Joe . . . Say It Isn’t So?

with one comment

Thrown in the national spotlight when John McCain injected his name into the third and final Presidential debate, Joe Wurzelbacher became an overnight celebrity.

It seems that John McCain should have done his homework before trying to portray Joe as the common business man who would be hurt by Barack Obama’s tax plan.

It turns out that Joe Wurzelbacher who claimed that Obama merely tap danced around what his tax proposal would be if elected, did a tap dance of his own.

Wurzelbacher claimed that he’s trying to buy the plumbing business where he is employed and that Obama’s proposal of raising taxes for individuals making over 250K would affect him deeply.

McCain has made yet another error in judgment:

1.  Wurzelbacher does not have a plumbing license.

2.  Wurzelbacher does not belong to a plumber’s union.

3.  Wurzelbacher is not a plumber’s apprentice.

4.  Wurzelbacher at no time has made 250K.

5.  Wurzelbacher actually owes the government in back taxes.

The bitter irony is that under Obama’s plan Wurzelbacher’s taxes wouldn’t increase and he would qualify for a tax credit that would have help him if he really had any intention of buying the business that currently employs him.

Repeatedly McCain has shown that he’s capable of making these inane blunders.

Then again, what can be expected of a man who would pick an unqualified disaster to be his running mate?

As for Joe the plumber . . .  wait until you make 250K and then you’ll have a legitimate reason to complain.
